More than one person told me that there were more than a thousand people outside the Israeli consulate in Houston, Texas on Friday afternoon, January 2, 2009.
(And I must say, the people across the street with Star of David on their signs extolled peace, too, for the most part. We all want peace. There were a few, a very few less friendly posters I saw on both sides of the street, but they appeared to me to be keeping a lower profile, or even turned face back. That seems hopeful, to me.)
There were at least three news-choppers in the air, one swooped low for what must have been a great action shot. There were several MSM *big* TV cameras in the crowd, 39 I saw for sure; I'm told I was seen from the back on channel 11 (local CBS affiliate). And of course, John H an Rob B from Indymedia/KPFT were there -- I'm sure we'll hear from them. Pretty good media coverage, comparatively? yeah...
