Some Photos From the Trose getting psyched for Ike

Some photos from the hood while I was running errands. It took me from 4:05pm to 4:40pm to get gas from this Shell station at Richmond and Woodhead.

I woke up this morning to get ready for class at 7pm and instead of "Morning Edition" on KUHF, they were broadcasting a live press conference of Bill White and others talking about evacuations from zip codes in the low lying areas. Since then I feel like its a flashback to September 2005, with Katrina fresh in our minds tens of thousands of Houstonians left town; moving glacially on the freeways and hunkering down in Houston preparing for the worst.

While Rita ended up moving east and pounding the Beaumont- Port Arthur area, it looks much more likely that Ike is gonna come through Houston this time. Here are some photos I took while running some errands today.

This was actually much more relaxed than when I drove by the Shell station at Alabama and Montrose.
