The Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez) held a day of the dead celebration on Nov. 2 2006 and some of the altars got political.

Héctor Murguía es Ingeniero Químico Administrados egresado del Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, miembro del PRI desde 1970 a ocupado numerosos cargos dentro de la estructura del partido, en 1994 fue electo Senador por Chihuahua para el periodo de 1994 a 2000, en varias ocasiones intentó ser candidato a Presidente Muncipal de Ciudad Juárez, sin que nunca llegara a nunca a concretar sus aspiraciones hasta 2004, cuando fue candidato de su partido y ganó las elecciones derrotando al PAN por primera vez en 12 años.
