Banned Books Event

Yes, books are still being banned in places in America. This Tuesday, September 26, 4:30 - 6:00 pm, there will be a banned books reading at the South Texas College of Law to raise awareness of the dangers of banning books.

Come raise awareness of the continued banning of books in America by attending a Banned Book Event for the Banned Books Week's 10th Anniversary this Tuesday, September 26, 2006, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm in the Student Lounge at the South Texas College of Law, 1303 San Jacinto. Food and refreshments will be served. The event will feature readings from banned and challenged books by: Dean James Alfini, Carol Alvarado, Isaiah Warner, Professor Kathleen Bergin, Professor Shelby Moore Mark Lambert, Randall Kallinen, Mujteba Naqvi, Michelle Hughes, Shailey Gupta-Brietzke, and Heather Busby. The event is sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union, Houston Chapter and ACLU of Texas and the Fred Parks Law Library, South Texas College of Law
