Activist Teacher Brings Students to March for the DREAM Act

While at the march, I met an amazing group of students from a local high school in South Houston. They were brought to the event by two of their Spanish teachers.

Jesus is a senior slated to graduate in the top ten percent of his class this upcoming May. He has dreams of becoming a Math teacher, but faces an uphill battle affording an university education because he is undocumented. He was part of a group of students from the South Houston area attending the march for the DREAM Act. This was largely due to his high school Spanish teacher, Augustin Laredo, whose class also inspired him to pursue a career in education. Listen to their interviews...
