KAMP radio station forced to shut down and move out
by Shane M Maberry Saturday, Sep. 17, 2005 at 3:28 PM

This morning 95.3 was taken off the air as power was removed and reliant officials requested that the station be packed up and moved or it would be impounded

The low power FM station setup in the media lot of reliant arena went off of the air at 10 am this morning according to a local SBC technician who was in the area when the plug was pulled. Local HIMC volunteers found a note taped to the air stream trailer that informed them to move the trailer by 6 this afternoon or it would be impounded. Even as KAMP volunteers worked to load up all the equipment and break down th antenna they were met with praise by red cross workers who were walking by. One Red cross worker expressed his thanks for the stations broadcast and said that he was sorry to hear that it had to be taken down and moved out. Although short lived the project was a success and gave a direct line of communication to the survivors living inside the arena

SBC tech talks about turning off KH5XIM

Comments from SBC tech, James Rivera, regarding the turning off of the juice for KH5XIM, 95.3 fm, Dome City, TX.

Lorie Kramer of HIMC reports from the broadcast location in Media lot 12. Only a luzury RV from a major network and the slick Airstream remained in the lot. The RV had the same note tapped to the door that we received.

Thanks to all that helped make this happen.

Lorie

So what's up Reliant Stadium? In all that area you can't have one little trailer keeping the rest of the survors cared for? How bout letting the radio station go inside the dome now?
