Astrodome LPFM stymied

Efforts by media activists to create a LPFM station in the Houston Astrodome have apparently been shot down by Harris County bureaucrats. Interview with Hannah Sassaman (6:58)

Media Activists around the country have combined efforts to
build a low power FM station in the Houston Astrodome to serve the needs of the internally displaced people in the stadium. After securing a license from the FCC and gaining the support of many organizations including the mayor of Houston and Governor of Texas their efforts have apparently been stimied by the Texas head of FEMA, R.W. Royal Jr, Incident Commander of the Joint Information Committee. An interview with Hannah Sassaman, Program Director for the Prometheus Radio Project, a non-profit that helps community groups start LPFM stations.
