Online Petition Drive to Bring Back WestFest on Westheimer (NOT ALLEN PARKWAY!!!)

A lot of Houstonians have been decrying Clear Channel's decision to pull Rock 101 (a.k.a. 101 KLOL, K101) off the air on 11.12.04, and the same also holds true for the 'abandonment' of the Westheimer Street Festival where the current promoter has packed his bags for San Antonio.

Last nite after leaving KPFT, the 524 Westheimer location had a U-Haul truck parked on the property where the business located downstairs is packing its bags. As of this writing, it may be rumored that the property where the former WestFest headquarters may be razed and/or sold.

Everyone would have dialed (713) 522-6548 and receiving a phone disconnect message; all that I know as of this writing is that the westheimerfestival.com website is still operational; their contact information (current) is westfest@wt.net.

Only once, the WestFest Purists Organization has defended the festival when it was on Allen Parkway, and since the 2003 homecoming, what was once an advertisement on the streets of H-Town has evolved into another Orange Show art car.

To quote Bro. Lenwood Johnson (Allen Parkway Village Resident Council in Exile) - "I would not defend Allen Parkway Village twice."
