Where were you?
If you had been there…
Your eyes would have seen
Batucada street music making protesters lively.
Your spirit would have felt
Drums playing samba rhythms,
Your ears would have heard
Brass horns dripping with tunes, N’awlins-style,
Your voice would have called out to the
Sequined dresses dancing alegria in the crowd.
It felt like WE, we felt solid and unified…
YOU, you would have made us stronger!
