Support Justice for Bhopal

This morning Greenpeace activists have blockaded 3 vehicle entrances to Dow Chemical offices in Houston Texas in efforts to gain justice for the victims of the 1984 Bhopal disaster.

Activists presented the demands of the Bhopal Campaign to officials at Dow and await a response.

Keep us updated. I bet we could throw together a solidarity demo outside of the jail, if it was desired, and we knew when to be there.

Bringin' out the HazMat for Dow, this is rad.

no jail solidarity
by Justice For Bhopal Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2003 at 3:01 AM

No Jail Solidarity is needed.

But call Dow's head of public relations, John Musser at 989-636-5663, in solidarity with the victims of Bhopal.

wondering if any pressure is being put on the Indian gov't. since they received a hefty sum in the settlement to restore the damage, apparently the government of India assumes responsibilty for clean-up initiatives.

Why exactly is there a blockade at Dow? Have they not fulfilled their end of the bargain. Its not very clear in the article.

My money
by Jim Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2003 at 7:44 AM

I am urging the City of Houston to recover from Greenpeace the cost associated with this event.

Greenpeace - you want to protest, fine, but don't take money out of MY pocket to promote your cause.

Money Issue

I read the thread on Jim's link to the focus group.
There was alot of aggression including one guy who wouldn't hesitate to run over them since he has insurance. This kind of attitude is a typical upper-class "american" one. Kill them, I'm safe.
The thread is very disturbing.
Everyone seems upset about inconvenience and losing money. Obviously none of them have actually lived in a 'third world country" or a country where the US has been terrorizing.
How many of you are worried about the billions and billions of dollars its gonna cost to go to war on Iraq??? Who's grumbling about that????
Jim could you post that to the focus group, I don't want to have to sign in to post up...
