Help TJP Human Shields to Iraq

A hundred human shields are leaving London for Iraq this Saturday, January 25, in an effort to deter armed aggression by the US and UK governments. Hundreds more are ready to come, but we need your help to take them.

Dismayed at our governments’ determined pursuit of a war on Iraq, and its refusal to listen to the voices of popular protest, we believe that DIRECT ACTION is the only way to prevent this war. Inspired by Ken Nichols O’Keefe, this action stands directly in front of the war machine to say NO TO WAR.

We want to show solidarity with ordinary Iraqi people, and strategically mobilize to protect water plants, hospitals, and schools from attack. Will our governments bomb us along with the Iraqis? Obviously, we hope not.

LIKE WHAT WE”RE DOING?

Fully half of Americans and British people oppose this war. If even 100,000 give a dollar each, this action will have much better success. Hey, why not two dollars? Give us the cost of a beer. Take up a collection among your friends. Help us to Iraq!

- Local and worldwide media exposure
- Medical supplies for Iraq.
- Provisions for the journey: water purifiers, shortwave radios, blankets, toilet paper, etc.
- Donations for Iraqis: toys, school supplies, building tools
- Office equipment: a fax machine, scanner, computers, adsl modem/routers, photocopier
- Vehicles to transport goods

Spread the Word
PLEASE, take a few minutes. Contact friends in London or en-route (see http://www.uksociety.org/tjp_route.htm): we need people to organise reception rallies, collect medicines and clothing for the Iraqi people, raise funds, come along. Tell local anti-war groups; contact the media; write about us.
