12.16.02: For the first time in five years, a 1975 Chevrolet Nova coupe is about to be resurrected as the WFPO Art Car.

It's been a five year hiatus for a garage cleanup where a 1975 Chevrolet Nova coupe has been sleeping.
Just this evening, a recycled Chevrolet 305 motor (which was originally a 313,968.6-miled powerplant that burned oil) was lowered into the recipient vehicle which will be used by the WestFest Purists Organization as an art car for 2003. Originally, the motor was delayed because of no funding, where the WFPO Cruiser was used for the remainder of the year.
As of this writing, the WFPO Cruiser (a 1981 Chevrolet Blazer 4 x 4) will need extensive rehabilitation, which will include bodywork, welding new floor panels, having the rear frame rails straightened, and re-sealing the camper top. During the interim winter break, plans to complete the WFPO Art Car Project has been initiated since November 2002.

As of this writing, the intake has been undecided - the final choice will be determined after a coin toss.

When the motor was lowered, the chain was too short, which necesitated raising the front end with a floor jack. The motor was finally in around 8:00 p.m. (sorry, missed the HIMC Radio Show and the weekly programming meeting because of a vacation)

Here's the shot of the lifter valley again, only that it was covered with masking tape (would not expect garbage in the oil pan)

This may cause a few car alarms to go off - a set of tubular headers were orignally part of a motor swap which dates back to April 1990, when I was a student at Willowridge High School

Don't mind the valve covers - they were placed on the motor for looks only (until the flashy pieces arrive on Christmas Day).
