Any congressperson who signed the Authorization to attack Iraq: violated The United Nations Charter which requires us to: “first of all, seek a solution by negotiation, enquiry, mediation, conciliation, arbitration, judicial settlement, resort to regional agencies or arrangements, or other peaceful means” and also commited a crime against peace for "planning, preparation, initiation or waging of a war of aggression"
Luckily for Congress, they are currently exempt from war crimes charges.

Bush leaves Houston, U.S. Goes to Iraq
"President" George W. Bush. came to the The Hyatt Regency for some fund-raising and was met by 250 protestors United For Peace, and opposed to war as a distraction from things like The White House connection to Enron (NY Times), the Progressive on Bush and Enron and the crazy report by the the right-wing American Patriot Friends Network
Even though major portions of our
citizens, potions of the military, most of our allies, and members of the U.N. Security Council are opposed to this war, we seem to be going anyway. The New York Times says "After several days of debate in which leading Democrats have spoken against giving Mr. Bush the free military hand he has sought, the president said he remained optimistic that Congress would in the end approve a war powers resolution.
'We're making progress, we are nearing agreement, and soon we will speak with one voice,' he said."
Does this seem to have implications about whether this is even a democracy or at least a republic at all? Although nothing has been decided yet, we are already mobilizing troops to the Gulf and bombing civilian airports in Iraq. looking for any response from Iraq which can be treated as a pretext for war. Ron Paul, (R, TX) has asked Bush to answer a few questions , including "Would an attack on Iraq not just confirm the Arab world's worst suspicions about the US, and isn't this what bin Laden wanted?". Oct. 15. The Houston Coalition for Justice Not War organized a group of Kay Bailey Hutchison's constituents who occupied her office for four hours today at 1919 Smith St. in a citizen's arrest of the Senator.
A number of citizens pledged to remain in her office in protest of Congress' authorization of the use of military force in an unprovoked war against Iraq and the bloodshed that will be visited on the men, women, and children of Iraq. They issued a public statement while awaiting arrest
The Houston Coalition asserts that Kay Bailey Hutchison is not authorized to initiate a crime against humanity.
A solidarity action took place in on the steps of the same building.
Three activists who refused to leave the Senator's office at the end of the day were arrested by federal marshals and cited for failure to obey federal authorities before being released. They have not decided at this writing how they will plead to this charge.

Audio of arrested protesters coming out with citations

In a nation which has just codified the new Orwellian doctrine of preventative defense, why not preventative arrests? Sound like some ancient or foreign police state, or a movie staring Tom Cruise? Not at all, it's Washington DC , 2002.
