The march was orgnized by Jovenes Unidos por un Futuro Mejor (Young Immigrants for a Better Future), around support for the DREAM Act, which would allow undocumented students who graduate from high school to recive in state tuition and allow some college students to apply for temporary and permanent legal status. Many march participants were participating with the draconian HR4437 in mind as well.

Earlier this month, Chicago had the biggest protest in the city's history when more that a hundred thousand people took to the streets against HR4437. This weekend many other protest took place in the US, 10 to 20 thousand mached in Phoenix (The largest protest in the cities history), thousands in Watsonvelle, and 50 thousand marched in L.A (more photos), following a day of high school walk-outs across California.
